A heater that won’t start is frustrating — but often it’s a simple fix you can check yourself. Here are 3 quick steps you can try before calling a professional.

Check the Power
Most heaters today run off a standard power point or are wired through a controller. It’s common for plugs to work loose or a circuit breaker to trip.
✔️ Check the power point.
✔️ Check your controller.
✔️ Check your switchboard.
No power? Reset or plug back in.
Check the Flow
Every pool heater has minimum flow or pressure requirements. If your pump isn’t moving enough water, the heater will shut down to protect itself.
✔️ Make sure your pump is running.
✔️ Clean your skimmer basket.
✔️ Check your filter and backwash if needed.
✔️ Make sure your pool cleaner isn’t blocking flow.
