Do I really need a service?

When you combine gas, flames and high running temps, you’d be crazy not to! So yes, we highly recommend regular servicing of any gas appliance to ensure it is safe and operating as intended.

What do you actually do in a service?

Basically servicing consists of a series of inspect, test and cleaning activities. We start by inspecting the appliance to ensure its safe to work on, conforms to industry standards and has been installed compliantly. If so, we then test its operation and if running without fault, we  then go deeper and test for correct and safe operation and complete required internal cleaning activities. We always undertake such activities in line with manufacturer recommendations and for gas appliances, we further ensure alignment with  AS4575:2019 – Servicing of Type A appliances. If we are servicing an entire system over just the appliance, we also make sure everything else is working as intended, e.g. pumps spin freely, drains are not blocked, connections and pipework is not leaking, insulation is intact, etc.

How often should I service my heater?

How regularly depends on your usage of it, though typically we recommend annually for heaters in residential applications and six monthly for those in commercial ones.

We sure do! We don’t differentiate between where the system is installed, so if it’s in your house or at your workplace we can help.

What is power flushing?

Over time sludge and other unwanted material start to form inside your hydronic system’s panels and pipework. This sludge typically settles in points of low circulation where it gradually builds up and restricts flow resulting in areas of heating inefficiency, i.e. cold spots.Power flushing is the process of connecting a specialised flushing machine to your system that generates a high pressure flow through it. This increased pressure and flow coupled with the use of a descaling chemical added to the system, disturbs the build-up, breaking it down and with the inclusion of a filtration magnet it is caught and discarded.
